     Third Annual Whiskey Obsession Festival One Week Away

Dozens of distillers and brand ambassadors are headed to Sarasota, Florida for the Third Annual Whiskey Obsession Festival to serve over 225 whiskies from around the world.  Held at Michael’s on East, Whiskey Obsession is one of the largest whisk(e)y festivals in the Southeast. The two-day festival on Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27, 2015 features three events including the grand tasting, a panel discussion, and seven classes.

Noted industry professionals include Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Jeff Arnett; Angel’s Envy Chief Innovation Officer Wes Henderson; Corsair’s Head Distiller Andrea Clodfelter; Jewish Whisky Company’s President Joshua Hatton; Templeton Rye’s President Scott Bush; C&C Cigar Founder Joe Chiusano; Long Island Spirits’ Owner Rich Stabile; Jefferson’s Bourbon President Trey Zoeller; Gordon & MacPhail Senior Vice President Gary Keimach; and many others.

Twenty five super-premium and rare whiskies will be served as VIP pours, including Glenfiddich 26 Year single malt; Glenmorangie 25 Year single malt; Tullabardine 25 Year single malt; Macallan Rare Cask single malt; Angel’s Envy Rye; High West Bourye; Compass Box Lost Blend Limited Release Scotch whisky; Orphan Barrel Forged Oak Bourbon; Corsair Buck Yeah American Whiskey; Mortlach Rare Old single malt; the Balvenie Tun 1509 single malt, and several dozen more.

The Sensory World of Wine and Whisk(e)y: A Masterclass on Intelligent Smelling

with Kim Lahiri Aroma Nosing Academy, Inverness, Scotland

Cost $15 per person

A journey on discovering the sense of smell, attendees will learn how to re-construct the key aromas in wine and whiskey that influence one’s palate.

7:00 pm to 10:00 pm

The Panel of Whiskey Experts Interactive Tasting and Discussion Cost $45 per person

Over 225 whiskies from nearly 80 brands will be available at the grand tasting.  Guests receive a commemorative Glencairn glass upon entry to sample spirits from the 40 exhibitors filling the ballroom at Michael’s on East.
